Silence

I didn't get much of it today... but absence makes the heart grow fonder.  I've been in a PACKED gym watching wrestling all day and my ears are still ringing as I write this.  I hate that kind of noise.  The background stuff that is just noise... not really sound.  It makes it very difficult for me to hear the person sitting right next to me.  (And believe me, I was sitting pretty darn close to people all day long.)  I love the peace that silence brings.  I love the relief (even physically) that silence brings.  It is the best relief for a headache and once you enter silence, you can instantly feel the stress begin to melt away.   Mother Teresa said, "We need to find God, and he cannot be found in noise and restlessness. God is the friend of silence. See how nature - trees, flowers, grass- grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence... We need silence to be able to touch souls."
