Coach Glines' Prayer

I got a phone call today from a man that I have grown to love and respect immensely over the last few years.  Coach Mike Glines has coached for longer than I've been alive... and I don't just mean athletics.  I could write for hours about his character and the things I have learned from him and about the people he has inspired... and some day... I reserve the right to count him as a blessing... but for today... I'm thankful for his prayer.  He called to thank me for including him in on a project that I recently completed and we got to talking about Steel, kids, health and everyday stresses.  I whined... and he consoled... And, true to his nature... he pointed out the positive.  At the end of the conversation, he asked for my e-mail address so that he could share something with me.  He said it is laminated and posted where he sees it everyday... and I want to share it with you.

Thought I would share with you and you share with all your friends.

Dear Lord, I Thank You For This Day:

I thank you for my being able to see and to hear this morning. I'm blessed because you are a forgiving God and an understanding God. You have done so much for me and you keep on blessing me.

Forgive me this day for everything I have done, said or thought that was not pleasing to you.  I ask now for your forgiveness.

Please keep me safe from all danger and harm. Help me to start this day with a new attitude and plenty of gratitude. Let me make the best of each and every day to clear my mind so that I can hear from you. Please broaden my mind that I can accept all things.

Let me not whine and whimper over things I have no control over, and give the best response when I'm pushed beyond my limits.

I know that when I can't pray, you listen to my heart.  Please continue to use me to do your will.

Please continue to bless me that I may be a blessing to others. Keep me strong that I may help the weak.

Please keep me uplifted that I may have the words of encouragement for others. I pray for those that are misjudged and misunderstood. I pray for those who don't know you intimately.

I pray for those that don't believe, and thank you that I believe God changes people and God changes things. I pray for my sisters,  brothers and each and every family member in their households. I pray for peace, humanity, love and joy in their homes and in their hearts. I pray that every eye that reads this knows there is no problem, circumstance, or situation greater than God.

I pray that these words be received into the hearts of every eye and ear that sees or hears it. Say this prayer every day and see how God moves!! God I love you and I need you, please come into my heart. Respectfully, Michael D. Glines

Thank you Coach Glines.  Respectfully... this will be my daily prayer as well.
