Passover officially begins at sundown tonight. In the past, when the kids were little, I have prepared traditional Seder meals for their classes during Holy Week. We’ve used it as a teaching opportunity to share with the children what Jesus was celebrating when he gathered with the disciples for the Last Supper. I’ve always wanted to do one at home with all of the symbolic elements and this is my chance.
Tomorrow is Leroy’s birthday, so I’m going to use that as an excuse to finally serve the dinner at home. As with all Jewish traditions the preparation is as important as the event itself… so holding true… I’ve been shopping and preparing all day. The meal is simple but the most important element will be those gathered around the table to share it.
