Bruschetta

Today was a perfect Saturday.  We didn't get home until very late last night so I slept in (and napped) a lot.  Then... we attended the vigil mass at 5:00 followed by dinner at one of my favorite restaurants... Ciao Bella.  Perfect.  I wish they could all be this simple.  I couldn't have planned it out better if I tried. The entire day was a blessing, but since I have to pick one thing... I'm going to say the Bruschetta (which we always order as an appetizer) was the best part.  This stuff is heaven on earth.  It doesn't matter what time of year, the tomatoes are always perfectly ripe.  It is the perfect combination of the right amounts of onion, garlic, basil and olive oil that makes this simple food so delectable.  My mouth is watering as I write this even now... YUMMY!  I usually eat so much of it that by the time my dinner arrives, I'm already full so I take it home in a box... but I'm not complaining.  It's worth all of the effort.
