There is a perfect time of day for photography called the Golden Hour. It is the hour immediately after sunrise, and the hour just before sunset.
I will be publishing the football newsletter this year and I wanted an exterior shot of the field to use. By the time I thought of it yesterday, it was too late. Much to my surprise, I was up early today and decided to drive to the high school and take my shots. I left just before sunrise and had the privilege of watching the sunlight bathe the scene as it came up. Everything is better in this light. It was quiet, it was cool and the color was extraordinary. There wasn’t anyone around to bother me and no cars in the way. I even made it home in time to fix breakfast for everyone before they woke up. (Everyone except Leroy of course.)
I don’t know if I’ll use any of the pictures I took today, but I did enjoy the time. Life’s a journey, not a destination.
