Perspective

My day did not go as planned. Sometimes that’s a good thing… but not today. I think it’s amazing how we can have a to do list that is a mile long, but as soon as something comes along that demands all of our time, energy and effort… the list gets pushed aside and nothing else seems quite as important. When we focus on priorities, all things fall into a proper order… it’s just unfortunate that it takes some kind of “disaster” to force us to stop and re-evaluate. We’ve been caught up in a mess. It’s nothing that we chose to participate in, but none the less, here we are. When we stop and focus our attention on another’s situation, we really gain perspective on our own troubles. I don’t want to sound like I’m rejoicing in another’s mis-fortune. All I’m saying is that compared to some of the other issues out there, our problems are pretty miniscule. I appreciate the perspective. I don’t know how long it will last, but for today, I have to say, things could be a whole lot worse.

And so we pray.
