We have been blessed with some tremendous friends and family.  Some we don't see quite as often as we used to, but that doesn't make them any less dear to us.  When someone goes out of his (or her) way to say hello when we haven't seen them for a long time, it's always a touching experience.  Today we had one such visitor and it truly made my day and as always, his company was a blessing. This young man was very close to Sierra in high school and is now away at college and busy with his own life. He sent a text last night saying he was home for the weekend and asked if he could come by for a visit.  I was touched... first of all because he would think of us, and second of all that he wanted to actually spend some of his precious time off visiting with us.  He came over in the evening and it was really wonderful to visit with him again.  He filled us in on all of his recent activities and what the future holds and seemed genuinely interested in our lives as well.

I keep repeating the fact that I am very aware of the privilege we enjoy in the relationships we have with the friends of our children.  Most people do not have the access to such relationships and I will not take it for granted.  This visit today was further proof that we have and continue to be a part of something extraordinary.
