We have a beautiful housewares store in Modesto. I'm not a frequent customer because most of the items are way out of my price range. But I heard a commercial on the radio the other day. The ad talked about the owners of the store understanding that we're in a recession and times are tough for people, but he was still inviting them in just to see how beautifully it was decorated. Knowing how pretty the store is all the rest of the year, I could only imagine how magnificent it would be with Christmas trees, lights and ornaments. I was not disappointed. The store seemed magical. Not only were the decorations bright and beautiful, even the merchandise looked better with all of the ambiance. I imagined that it must be what Santa's workshop must look like, or at least Mrs. Claus' kitchen.
