Palm Sunday... again. It seems like only yesterday we were preparing for Easter and here it is upon us again. In the Mediterranean world, palms were used to cover the walk way of someone very important. (Much like we use a red carpet today.) As Jesus rode into Jerusalem to celebrate the Passover, he was welcomed as a king with the crowd waving palms in honor of him. I love the tradition of the distribution of the palms to the parishioners on Palm Sunday. I usually keep mine in the visor of my car. Did you know that the left over palms will be burned next year for the ashes to be distributed on Ash Wednesday?
