I have been on the RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) Team at St. Stanislaus Church since my conversion to Catholicism in 1999. My roles have changed during that time, but for the last several years, I have been in charge of presenting the gospel commentary every Monday night. I write my own commentary (based off of the readings and research that I do) on the gospel from the previous Sunday. Since the readings are in a cycle, I have most of them already written but occasionally I have to write one that I had skipped during the previous cycle. This is one such Monday... and these are some of the resources that I use to come up with my presentation. I always ask for guidance from the Holy Spirit and he always comes through for me. This work is a good discipline for me. It forces me to pay attention to the gospel and to process my thoughts, feelings and understanding. That's why I stick around. It keeps me engaged in my faith and keeps me learning.
