Texting Austin at 20:11

What I'm Doing at 20:11 in 2011... I've written about my thankfulness for "texting" in previous blog posts. It's one of my favorite forms of communication. There are lots of reason why I like it so much, but my favorite use is... as a tool to communicate with teenagers.

I have had teenagers text me things they would NEVER say to me in person, or never take the time to say to me in person. Sometimes it's just easier to say something with written words. I have had some of the best conversations with my own kids via text... and that trend continues with the other teenagers in my life.

At 8:11 tonight, I was at RCIA, at break and texting with Austin. (My 17 year old nephew.) Austin is knee deep in preparation for a HUGE football game on Friday, facing college application deadlines as well as end of the quarter assignments. This is not an easy, breezy time for this kid. It's a lot of stress and I'm glad to help him out whenever I can.
