Chalk Talk at 20:11

What I'm Doing at 20:11 in 2011... Rico, Pfitzer, Pires and Associates hosted the CC Raider Gridiron tonight, so I attended and helped a bit. (A very tiny bit, I actually just attended more than I helped.) Gridiron Dinners are a weekly tradition at CCHS where the parents, fans and supporters of CC Raider football meet each week for a hosted dinner, raffle drawing and talks by the coaches. These events are for adults only and a great way to get to know the other families involved in football.

At 8:11, we were finished with dinner and Leroy was in the middle of his talk about JV. This was his first chance to address the parents since completing the undefeated, 10-0 season. He expressed his thanks for the support of the parents, for his coaching staff, and especially for the athletes. He really loves to coach, and he loves those boys. No one in the room tonight could deny that fact.

This week on Facebook, my nephew wrote the following words to Leroy... "Everyone needs a great coach growing up..." Those words have stuck with me all week. I couldn't agree more. And, I have to say, CC's JV team has a great coach. We are all blessed by his commitment and dedication to the program.
