Christmas Traditions at 20:11
What I'm Doing at 20:11 in 2011... Since this is the first Sunday of Advent, we were discussing liturgical season and preparations for Christmas at RCIA. We were sharing some of our family traditions, how they came about and how important they are to us.
The wonderful thing about traditions is that you can always add to them. Some will fall away as they are no longer relevant to us. For many, many years, Sierra danced in the Nutcracker. Between all of the rehearsals and performances, I have that whole damn ballet memorized... from the notes of the music to the timing of the props. This was a HUGE tradition for our family, and I have to admit it was a little sad when it ended.
But just like families, traditions change and that's not a bad thing. We keep changing and adding to the things that are important to us.
