A couple years ago we started the tradition of watching the Godfather movies on my birthday weekend. They are always running on AMC this time of year for the anniversary of the original movie release. This year is the 40th. I wasn't sure if we'd get to do it this year with the move and settling in, but we did get the first one in this afternoon. As I type this, we're just about to watch #2 which is actually my favorite. I think we'll skip #3 and that doesn't really bother me since I really don't care for it. (But if you haven't seen the complete series, you must include #3 at least once so that you understand.)

I love traditions... and this is one of my favorites. It's a great excuse to make time to watch the movies that I love. Whenever we do this, I'm a little surprised to find someone who hasn't seen the movies before. It's a shame really.
A special thank you to Leroy for making it happen. He knows: "A man that doesn't spend time with his family can never be a real man."
