Ministry isn't always pretty. It isn't always warm, fuzzy puppies, rainbows and smiles. Sometimes it's ugly. Sometimes it's sweaty and stinky. Sometimes it feels like work. This isn't a bad thing... Actually it's precisely the most important work that needs "doing." Perhaps we are the one who needs transformation.
We all have to learn to get along. And when you're dealing with many different personality types, it can get a little... let's say... tricky.
That's where the grace comes in. God provides all that we need. Sometimes that grace comes as patience, sometimes it's restraint and sometimes it comes in the form of allies.
I am so thankful for my friends who understand and are empathetic to my frustrations. I just feel better knowing that someone understands and validates my feelings. Most of the time we are able to "vent" our issues with a series of snarky statements... laugh at each other and then let it go.
We understand the privilege and the significance of the work we do. God never said it was going to be easy, only that it would be worth it. The fun comes from the friends we make along the way.
