Today was the big day... Turlock Pentecost Association celebrated it's 100th Anniversary today with all of the past queens and past presidents invited to march. And there were a lot of us marching. So many in fact that I would guess that it doubled the size of the parade. Watching the festivities from a distance this week has caused me to reflect and wonder how in the heck we ever pulled it off. Leroy was president in 1997. Sierra and Steel were 5 and 8 and we took them along for the ride. I don't know how we had time time, energy or finances to get it done.
But we did.
At the time, Leroy was the youngest man to ever serve as President for TPA. I don't know if that is still true... but I'm sure glad we did it when we did. Taking on the challenge now seems a bit overwhelming to consider.
Our lives have changed dramatically since that time and we don't do much with the Festas anymore, but it's nice to remember... and be remembered.
