Don't laugh... but I'm so proud of myself today. I ran (well... jogged) for FIVE WHOLE MINUTES! Straight! I didn't even cheat or pause (I was on the treadmill.) I know for some of you this is not too big of a deal, but for me, it's HUGE! I have started (and stopped) the Couch to 5K running program at least a dozen times over the last few years. I hate to run, but I find running very appealing and I find runners to be fascinating. I've never made it past week 2. And I have to admit that even when I would move on, I usually cheated during the intervals. Today I ran Week 4, Day 1 and the last running interval lasted for 5 minutes! When the work out came up on my iPhone today, I saw the 3, 4 and 5 minute intervals and thought... "No way." Even going into the last one I wasn't sure I'd last, but I did. Much to my own surprise.
So I know this isn't a big deal to some, but it's a major accomplishment for me. We'll see how the next few weeks go.
