Keynote

I attended a religious education congress in Visalia (Fresno Diocese) today with some of my fellow teachers at Holy Rosary.  We had a great time, and it gave me an opportunity to get to know them better.  It was a really long day, but well worth the effort.  The company was terrific, but we were also treated to a dynamic keynote speaker. I had heard Sr. Eva Marie Lumas give a presentation on the "Our Father" 13 years ago.  She was the presenter at the Stockton Diocese's "Day of Reflection" in 1999.  (The year received my sacraments.)  I didn't recognize her name, but I knew immediately who she was when she began to speak.  I was touched by her message then and knew today's address would be great.

And it was.

If the day had ended there, it would have been worth the trip.  But instead, it set the positive tone for the rest of the day.  We are truly blessed by those who share their gifts for the good of us all.
