This might be the most controversial post I've ever written. But today, I have to say that I am so damn happy that the baseball season has come to an end. (The San Francisco Giants swept the Detroit Tigers in the World Series.) Don't get me wrong, it's not about not liking the Giants. I like them about as well as any other baseball team. And I LOVE San Francisco so I'm happy for the city. I just don't care for baseball. It's just so... boring.
At least it is for me. I've had to bite my tongue several times over the last few weeks as my friends and family drone on and on about baseball... and the Giants... (Some I've even blocked from my news feed on Facebook.) There have been so many times I've felt like saying, "What's the big deal? It's just baseball."
For people like me, sports like baseball and basketball are just things to do during the football off-season. Sure they pass the time, but they don't really mean anything. (I'm kidding here... Relax baseball fans.) I guess it's a good reminder to keep it all in perspective. Even though it's not my passion, I shouldn't be critical of others.
(But I sure am glad it's over.)
