A lot of my job is coordinating the timing of the work of others. The people I work with and for are very, very good at their jobs. They make me look good. But all of this coordination means that I do a lot of waiting. Sometimes it's a bit like watching a tennis match. The ball gets hit to me and I immediately hit it back sometimes to where it came, and sometimes in a different direction. One particular project has required a lot of back and forth... but I think we finally got it figured out today. I have a bit more work to do tomorrow but we made significant progress today.

Since I'm a "check it off the list" kind of person, this kind of accomplishment feels really, really good. I get frustrated when things don't go smoothly... and it never does. There's always a hiccup... but I'm learning to be patient. Things always work out in the end.
