One of the greatest blessings we enjoy is our access to outstanding medical care and great insurance to help cover the expenses. It's something I usually don't think about until I need it, but today I was reminded that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Personally, I'll take the prevention anytime. I'm thankful for my health and a great team of doctors whom I have grown to know and trust. I never miss an annual gynecological exam. (My apologies if that's TMI for some of you.) And... since turning 30, I've never gone more than 18 months between mammograms. It just seems like common sense to me. Most of the health issues I will face in my lifetime can be treated fairly easily when caught in the early stages. It's a no-brainer. I'm healthy as a horse... and I don't tend to "worry" about things that are out of my control. But being aware and proactive about my health is within my control.
So here's the call to action! When was the last time you had a physical? If you can't remember, it's been too long. Get into the doctor and get checked out.
Knowledge is power.
