Hey Kid: Drink Water

I have an addiction to Diet Coke (or Diet Pepsi... I'm not picky.)  This vice has been an issue for me before.  I justify it by thinking that there are worse things I could be addicted to... like crack cocaine.  And while Diet Coke/Pepsi is a completely calorie free beverage... I know it's not good for me.  At least that's what "they" keep telling me. As I write this I'm happy to say that this is my 3rd day (in a row) without a Diet Coke/Pepsi.  Now I know that's not a monumental achievement by normal standards, but it's kind of a big deal for me.  Hopefully this will last.

I've really been trying to drink as much water as possible.  There are many health benefits of drinking plenty of water including energized muscles and health skin and other organs.  I can't say that I've seen a difference in 3 days but I'm hopeful.

Make sure you drink a lot of water, everyday.  Especially on the days when you'll be doing something physical, like sports or dance.  (Yes... you will be doing these things because it runs in the family.  We'll talk more about this expectation in another post.)  Don't wait until you're thirsty.  Drink constantly and always way ahead of physical activity.  We don't want you getting dehydrated.
