You will meet people who love, love, love to garden and do yard work. I am not one of them.
But I will admit there is a value in the effort. There is a wonderful sense of satisfaction in the processes of keeping your environment beautiful. It’s hard, physical work that requires enough energy and concentration to allow your mind to push away outside influences and to just focus on the task at hand. In other words, it’s a wonderful stress relief.
For those who do not see this work as “necessary chore” they are able to create natural beauty while also feeding their body and soul. Win, win. If you’re like me and not particularly care for yard work, do it anyway. First of all, it needs to be done. Consider it a gift to everyone who has to look at your house. But more importantly, I promise you’ll find it worthwhile. (At least until you HAVE to do it again.)
