Hey Kid: Doubt and Faith

“The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser men so full of doubts.” ―     Bertrand Russell

Do not be afraid of doubt.  Doubt is a natural, transformative part of our intellectual and faith filled lives.  Questioning is how we learn, how we grow and develop.  Doubt causes us to be open for a deeper experience.  It give us a chance to evaluate and make an experience our own so we can learn and grow from it.  It gives us a chance to transform.

The opposite of faith is not doubt.  It is fear.  Fear is a paralyzing, useless emotion.  It serves no purpose beyond the awareness of physical danger.  If you keep it in check and recognize it only for that purpose, you will go far in life and find tremendous gratification and happiness.
