(Part 2 of a 3 part series on Faith and Religion.) Life is a journey, not a destination. The destination is Heaven and while that’s ultimately where we want to end up, we can enjoy the journey and continue to prepare. That’s where our faith comes in. Faith is a journey too. It doesn’t look the same from one day to the next and it certainly pushes us into different places and unknown territory.
Faith is constant choice. We always have to have a choice. And when we choose well, our journey is filled with indescribable joy and beauty. And when we choose poorly, we all travel down dark and scary paths. But we can always find our way back. Always. Then, (hopefully) the next time we come to a fork in the road, we’ll make a better choice.
Find your own faith. Don’t rely on your friends and family to tell you what to believe. Find it for yourself. You come from a long line of very faithful people and while they will attempt to pass down their faith from generation to generation, you still have to claim it for yourself. Faith is not an inherited condition. It is unique to each individual. Don’t use another’s faith as a crutch for yourself. Find your own and you will be stronger than you ever imagined.
