This is one of my favorite pictures of my oldest brother Chuck. It was taken by a professional photographer in 1993. This was a very good time in Chuck's life, maybe even the best time. He was really in a good place in life. He was happy and healthy and actually quite a lot of fun. Things were going well for Chuck back then. He was in good health. He had a great job and he was finally in a place where he could indulge in some of his interests and hobbies. He was working with the horses quite a bit and even fulfilling the life long dream of getting his pilot's license.
We saw a lot of Chuck during that time. It wasn't uncommon for him to make 2-3 trips to California each year. And then of course, there was our annual trip to Idaho to see him as well. Sometimes we'd just meet him and Jenni in Anaheim and go to Disneyland. Chuck loved those trips and was always planning the next visit.
I miss those days but cherish the memories. I'm honored he shared so much of his life with us then. It was a privilege.
