1,000 Words: Kid Next Door

Growing up on the country certainly has its advantages.  There are acres and acres of land to roam, dirt roads to ride and people around you that live with the same values and lifestyle as your own.   Since the kids went to private school, most of their friends lived miles away, but the ones that were close were really, really special. It's probably a good thing these two didn't really discover each other until they were older.  Since Patrick is a year ahead of Steel in school, they really didn't become good buddies until high school.  Once they started hanging out together they formed a bond that will last a lifetime.

I have a whole list of stories that I cannot tell in public (and certainly not on a public blog) and almost all of them include Patrick.  I've kept a list and someday, a long time from now, I may write them down.  I don't know if I'll be able to share them with the public, but I know Patrick will remember and we'll all sit around and laugh.

Patrick is the kind of kid that just joins in and becomes a part of the family.  He has a brilliant sense of humor and an intoxicating laugh that you'll never forget.  But more than fun, Patrick has a huge heart and he's loyal.  He'd be there for anyone in a moments notice, no questions asked.  I know these two will be lifetime friends and we'll all benefit from the relationship.
