1,000 Words: Safe at First

I might catch a lot of flack for this, but the truth is I'm not much of a baseball fan.  In fact, it's difficult for me to sit through an entire game.  There just seems to be a lot of hurry up and wait.   A game can last for hours, but on average there's only about 14 minutes of playing time.  It's just not for me. It does make a difference if I'm watching a player though.  And it really makes a difference if I have a camera in my hand.  Shooting baseball is very difficult because the action can move from one part of the field to another in the blink of an eye.  It's difficult for me to keep track when I'm just watching, let alone when I'm holding a camera in front of my face.

This shot is from one (of the few) baseball games that I shot for my nephews.  This is Brandon trying to get back on to first base after attempting to steal second.  He was safe, but it was too close for comfort from my point of view.
