Nerd Day Out

It's no secret that I'm a big nerd.  I always have been.  I'm not normal and I don't fit in with most of the people that I love, but they tolerate me.  When we travel, I'm the one who wants to do the boring things (museums, exhibits, history, etc.)  I'll take a great book store over a live concert any day!  (With the exception of Paul McCartney.) The last few times we've been to Monterey, we've gone with friends or family who didn't particularly want to do the "nerdy" things that I wanted to do.  Majority rules and I'd been out voted, but not today.

Today, Leroy took me to the Monterey Bay Aquarium (something I've wanted to do for a couple of years.)  I realize it's not that exciting for some people, but I had not been in several years and I was anxious to see the new additions.  Since we were alone on this trip, there were no objections so we finally made it.  (Leroy may have secretly objected, but he knew I really wanted to see it.)

On the way home, he even took me to Pea Soup Andersen's for a traditional bowl of pea soup.  Another nostalgic tradition.  This really was a sacrifice for Leroy and he couldn't hide his disappointment, but he suffered through it for me.  (And it was DELICIOUS!)

I played with the GoPro too which is high on the nerd list too.  I'll put that footage together and share with you in the future.  For now, here's a shots of me and my favorite guy... as well as some beautiful jelly fish.  (I could have watched them for hours.)
